Albanach {Noun} [al-ba–nak]: A Scotsman

Founder, David Brown is ‘a Scotsman’ with over 30 years of experience across all sectors of the drinks industry. As Managing Director of John Crabbie, he revived an iconic brand, and built a new scotch whisky distillery in the heart of Edinburgh, the first in over 100 years. He also helped establish the Glasgow distillery and brands, the first in Glasgow for over 100 years. In his 10 years as sales director for Whyte & Mackay, he worked in both the on and off-trade channels before setting up the premium brands team focussing on rare and valuable whisky.

David also has worked in drinks retail, as commercial director with Greene King / Belhaven and with Allied Domecq as marketing manager.

Responsible for the creation of several award-winning products, David regularly appears in the judging panel for spirits and beer products.
His passion and commitment for the drinks sector was recognised in 2016 when he was inducted into the Scottish Licensed trade Hall of Fame.
